Q: why does my shit smell/taste like vinegar?
A: well, for starters we suggest that you don't taste your clothing.
to follow up on that, here is why it might smell like vinegar. interestingly enough, it's not unusual - it's from a fixation agent applied during the printing process and it's not permanent. fixation agents, or pre-treatment of the garment, is used for all DTG prints across the industry. It helps the ink bond with the fabric, and without it, the ink would simply flake off the garment.
as for the possible white flakes, if the discoloration is noticeable, the quality control team will include a card explaining that it's from the fixation agent.
the solution is simply to wash the garment! neither the residue nor the smell is permanent and both should go away after one wash. the smell will usually fade if you let the garment air out a bit, but we simply recommend washing your new garment according to it's directions.
If the scent or residue are persistent and don't fade, please contact our customer support and we'll try our best to get it fixed for you.
